Finley is 3 Months!

I'm so excited to see Finley grow...but so sad how fast the time is going. She's such a happy baby and LOVES to eat. We're trying to adjust her schedule on eating so she's ready for day care. It's been a full time job keeping up with her. She's weighing in over 14 pounds and growing out of most of her cute little clothes. Makes me sad to put them away. Guess I'll have to buy more.=) I keep eyeing the calendar and seeing my time almost come to an end. I'm so thankful for having four months with her and excited to start back at work. Mornings may be a little stressful though!

Always trying to put something in her mouth. She's also become a thumb sucker. Ugh!

Summer is Over!!

I'm not sure where the summer went. Drake was excited to start his new pre-school Wee Warriors. It's a preschool/daycare that just takes Waukee teacher's kids. It was an adjustment at first and had a couple days of tears. Mostly over nap time. He now loves it especially when he can be a "helper". Wish he would show that enthusiasm about helping at home.
We took a small vacation to the Mall of America over my birthday. Not so easy to now drop two kids off with Brock and go shopping.

Drake is still excited to be able to see the garbage trucks when he gets home from school. We do have meltdowns when the truck beats us home.
Drake still enjoys knocking over the can and smelling it. So weird!!!

We went to a paint your own pottery place the day before school. Brock thought Drake painted all the pieces. Embarrassed to say I painted one. =)

Cousins

Drake was so excited to have Cora (and Ryan) join us in August.  Drake wasn't the best host at times. He seems to have a very strong attachment to all his toys (to put it nicely.) I have a feeling Cora will be able to put a hurt on him soon.

Drake meets the Dentist

Drake had his second dentist visit in August. We switched to a new pediatric dentist right by our house. I know I would be very pumped to go to the dentist if it was like this. TVs on the ceiling....yes please! Drake liked it so much he asked to go back the next day. I'm thinking it was the toys that he was after.

Lucky for Drake we did get to go back two weeks later.... because he had two small cavities in his back teeth. The first thing that went when we went home was the fruit snacks. Chalk that one up to bad parenting. The word fruit gets me every time. He obviously doesn't have the slightest idea what was ahead of him. We left the dentist and he said, " Wow, mom two cavities isn't that bad."

Drake getting a little "gas" to help ease his pain with the cavities.  He had no pain and truly wish all my dentist visits could be like this.

Finley's Baptisim

The beginning of August our families got together to have Finley baptized. Finley is a true blessing from God and we are so very thankful our prayers were answered. We also were excited to have Brock's brother Ryan and our niece Cora be there to help us celebrate.  We missed Aunt Emily and little baby Peter though.

So hard to get a good picture between Drake and the baby.

Drake just had to have the cross off the cake. Can you say sugar rush????

Iowa State Fair

I know I have fair written all over me....but it's something that I have look forward to every year since we've moved to Des Moines. Mostly the fried food and people watching vs the animals..but something for everyone.

Of course we went on the busiest day and drove around for a good hour looking for a parking spot. Brock and I were already sick of crowds before we got in. I also was a little worried our car would look like Chevy Chase's from Vacation when he goes down to the wrong part of St. Louis...but all was good.

Drake's highlights were jumping on the trampoline and seeing all the Metro Waste green garbage trucks. The small farm boy in Brock was disappointed he didn't get to see all the animals. I guess there is always next year. This lady was ready to go.

Dad look what I found....
Drake was so excited to see all the garbage trucks ...who needs animals.
